Meet the Team / Our Primary Team
James has nearly 25 years’ experience as a teacher and headteacher. He completed a master’s in education (with distinction), specialising in language and literacy, from the University of Exeter, focussing on the explicit and implicit teaching of vocabulary. He tutors in English from Key Stage 1 up to GCSE and specialises in supporting students with reading difficulties. James also tutors for the 11+ and all Key Stage 1 and 2 subjects including mathematics, with James’s mathematics cohorts achieving significantly above the national average in their tests year on year.
James is a contributing author to two books on teaching, including A Guide to Early Years and Primary Teaching. James was a research director for the Education Endowment Foundation’s Research Schools Network and is a nationally recognised expert – including being the national lead for primary literacy – on using evidence to improve teaching and learning.
James will be offering online tuition to primary and secondary learners
